Story behind RACO began in 1950
Raco Presentation
The company RACO A/S is based in Holsted, close to the E20 motorway, between Esbjerg and Kolding.
RACO A/S is engaged in the manufacture and sale of autoelectric products such as battery terminals, battery clips, booster cables, earth straps and cable connections which are sold under the RACO brands.
In parallel, RACO A/S now also deals with the development and production of socket testers, trailer light testers, converters 24 – 12 volts, as well as brake pedal meters, etc., which are sold under the trademark G.S.E.
However, the story goes further back …
The beginning of the 50s
Manufacturer E. Lindberg Rasmussen began making battery terminals and more, inspired by leftover parts from the English army. The pole shoes were then cast in lead. The products were sold under the trademark RACO.
1973
Another part of RACO A/S is the brand GSE, which was founded in 1973 by Kristina Sigmunds, who started by making adapters for connecting trucks that were to pull English trailers that had other connectors than the Danish ones.
1980s
GSE begin to develop testers for sockets and testers to test the lights on trailers.
1988
The company Tajco, Grindsted takes over the brand RACO, and moves production to Grindsted.
2007
RACO A/S is founded and takes over the rights to the RACO trademark.
2014
RACO A/S takes over the rights to GSE.
2015
RACO A/S gathers its activities in premises at the address Overgade 4, 6670 Holsted.
RACO & GSE
Both RACO and GSE products have always been known for their high quality.
Battery terminals and Battery clips are e.g. made of cast brass, which has a superior conductivity for current.
The Test products from GSE are all developed internally in the company. The products have for many years been exported to customers all over Europe.
